Tracking The Werewolf

Creative rendition of a werewolf
Source: Wiki: Werewolf Physiology

The story of "Tracking The Werewolf" written by Morgan Smith, is a predated werewolf story that follows one man's experience in tracking a werewolf. The introduction did a good job of explaining the story and what it was going to entail. The intro is what ultimately reeled me in to want to read the rest of the story, and did a very good job of it. The title was gripping and exciting, but I wish it was a tad bit more creative. I think the overall page layout was very good, and I really appreciated the font/style/general layout. I also really liked the images that the author provided within the blog posts, there are lots of useful visuals.

The story of "Toto's Adventures In Oz" is told from the perspective of Toto himself. I really liked this idea and I thought it was very creative, I love story rewrites that offer a new perspective. I think the title was straight-forwards, but intriguing. I also thought that the introduction provided just enough information to pull me into the story. My only critique, however, is that I do not like the layout of the page. I thought the header images were generally grainy and took away from the overall aesthetic of the blog. I thought that the rest of the layout, however, was effective and accomplished the goal of the storybook assignment.

The story of "Louisiana Animal Folktales" written by Ashley Kessler is a multi-part story of Henry the alligator's journey. I thought that the story was very playful and whimsical, I appreciated the story for what it was. Like the other titles, this one could also benefit from a bit of creativity. I thought that the introduction was useful and set up the rest of the aspects of the story nicely, and the layout of the page was easy to follow, I especially appreciated the embedded link to the next part of the story. I liked the graphics and the general layout, I do not really have any complaints as to the layout.

Introduction to a Future Teacher, Ex Wrestler

Hello Friends!         My name is Mikayla Chandler, I am a Junior here at the University of Oklahoma, and I am studying Secondary Language Arts Education. My go-to fun fact? I wrestled for 8 wonderful years of my life on an all-boys wrestling team. The years I spent wrestling were some of the most formative years of my life. If I was not studying to become a teacher right now, I would be training for the 2020 Olympics. The coolest thing about my major? I get to do what I love for the rest of my life. I cannot wait to teach English (hopefully on the high school level) to the next generation of young adults. I think it is beyond cool that I get the opportunity to become a teacher, I cannot think of anything I would rather be doing. Last semester I was enrolled in 18 hours while working nearly full-time, so I guess I am not really sure what class is my favorite, they all made me cry regularly. My favorite class was honestly probably my Young Adult Literature class,...

Week 4 Story Lab: Summer of 1986

1986 Banner,  Source Story Lab; Microfiction Summer of 1986 It was not hard to make friends in a small town like Verona, Texas. When you go to school you are practically assigned a couple dozen friends for life, no one really left our small town, and no one really came in. There is something to be said about this sort of extreme consistency, but I never really found it bland. I had my couple of friends, of course, but it was more obligatory friendship rather than a close bond, and maybe that’s why I was seeking more. In the summer of 1986 my mom had heard on the radio about a few girls my age going missing in some of the neighboring towns, the reporter summed it up to them running away with their boyfriends, so mom quit allowing me to see Peter and sent me away for the summer to make some new friends. Mom said the girls who ran away with their boyfriends were just bored and needed stimulation, thus earning me a one-way ticket to the YWCA camp that a few of my friends were...
